SIGTAS (PM) in Kabul

Hello dear all,
I am back to Kabul with SIGTAS tax roll module functional specification now, the action plan is to start work with SIGTAS management committee for approval of this document. i have been already started my regular meetting with TIN office who is the key counterpart for this module. the rest of SIGTAS team will be coming on 5th September from Istanbul.

We finished the 4th week of the training successfully the subject was process mapping and process mapping reengineering.

First the Business Analysts mapped all curent proceduers for registaring a Taxpayer Individual, Individual Enterprise Non-Individual all these mapping was according to current procedures of Afghanistan Revenue Department (ARD).

The processmaping reengineering was include of processmappimg according to sigtas how does in sigtas we can register a taxpayer what are the process and all so ARD need to some useful changes in current procedure when the sigtas Implement It all mapped according to current Procedures and the Expariance of BA Expert Trainers for having a good procedures for Taxpayer Regiatration and prevent from current problem in Taxpayer Registration for Example Duplicate TIN number............................ets.

SIGTAS 3rd week Training

According to the project plan the 3rd week were specified for the mapping in diagramming which in clouds process name , process activity , triggers ,source/ destination , resources, activates and steps.
It was a really constructive week which will help us to map all ARD units’ current real procedure it was really intrusting week and we were too busy in practical exercise and we have learn much more about mapping and processing.
With addition of mapping we have worked on functional specification of reporting which facilitates us to have fulfilled information from deferent screens to be appearing in one screen.

Functional Specification in creation!

The ARD Sigtas team is working very hard in Istanbul (no we are not here for fun only!) to prepare the functional specification document for the implementation of the registration module in the ARD. Since our Target date for going live on this module is December 2009.. we are pushing very hard to get this document ready for approval by the Steering Committee at their next meeting on 15 September 2009.

We look at every screen to re-design it to the ARD requirements. We add the necessary fields and we remove the ones that would not be applicable for the ARD. Once we are satisfied that each screen contains all the fields that we need, we look at each field to determine its characteristics, for example, is the field compulsory, field length, validation criteria etc.

The first draft of the functional specification document will be presented to ARD management by Ajmal Behzad shortly after 22 August 2009. We are very proud of the progress being made on this first major deliverable of Wave 1 of the ARD Sigtas Project.

We invite anybody that are interested in seeing the outputs and discussing the future impact on the ARD to contact Ajmal for a meeting to discuss.

2nd Week of the Training

Dear all!

We have finished the 2nd week of the training successfully and learned much more regarding

Data Base and main part of our training was about the functional specification in this week.

by the help of CRC Sogema trainers we have got a lot of useful ideas about writing functional specification ,we were going to have training about functional specification in the morning shift and every day after lunch we are practicing SIGTAS data base modules to prepare our selves to train all ARD employees.

In addition of training we had a nice program in the weekend on saturday we all went to a very historical tower by the name of GALATA tower, the upper section of the tower with the conical cap was slightly modified in several restoration during the Ottoman period ,on its upper floors which commands a magnificent view of istanbul city and we had a nice dinner over there.On sunday we went for boating program and Egyptian historical bazaar and we enjoyed a lot.
