Sigtas Project Overview

The Sigtas has now been in progress for about 9 months. During this time most of the activities around the project have been focussed on preparation and staffing. Almost US$1,000,000 has already been spent on requirements definition, scoping, hardware infrastructure, software and advisory services.

    The Sigtas architecture selected is Oracle 11g running under VMWare virtualization based Wndows 2003 servers on 5 Dell physical servers.

    The Sigtas solution is a proct of CRC Sogema from Canada. It supports all the main tax management functions that are currently being utilized by the Afghanistan Revenue Department.

    SIGTAS is the generic brand name of the CRC Sogema product. Can we / should we come up with our own name/acronym for the ARD. A competition?

    Now there's an idea.. Perhaps the Sogema guys can give us their opinion? Dont want to infringe on copyright's etc.. Any other opinions?
